Default ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 Driver Problem

Hallo,

I installed the latest Omega Driver Version 3.8.421 on my Maxdata Pro 8100 IS.
The grafic card is a ATI Mobility Radeon 9700. I Use Windows XP Prof. SP2.
Since the installation of the new driver the following message appears during startup:

"Cannot find Video Board"

It seems not to be the right driver. I have no "Video Board".

Knew's anyone in the Formum the best driver for my notebook?

Please help me,
Landcruiser

Well... if i remember corectly .. the Omegas drivers are not really good for the mobiles devices... well ... for your case i recommand you to take the lastest ATI drivers ... in my case it's change absolutely nothing to put od or normal drivers on my X1900

Try the lastest drivers of ati and if it's don't work ... come here and we will help you more

Cheers

I had the same problem a long time ago. I even posted here, but eventually I just gave up and settled for an old NGO (the one I've been using for at least 1.5-2 yrs). I need to upgrade because this version I'm using can't output to VGA (for some reason).

Ah, ad BTW, the default ATi doesn't work either... I tracked the problem somewhat (I'm no driver expert), and I can say that neither (ati or ngo, or omega, for that matter) has the device ID for the mobility radeon 9700:

VEN_1002&DEV_4E50

at least the one I have here with me (SUBSYS_80501071)

I hope someone with better luck find a solution.

its a onboard vga correct? try updating mobo drivers (bios versions), then update vga drivers.
