I havent looked everywhere yet but do NGO support Laptop drivers? I hate my laptop but its my gaming PC because my Tower is completly outdated with a 6800gt agp, running 512mb...Right now I have a laptop running at 1.8 dual core AMD, 1600X ati 256mb and 2 gigs of ram.
This laptop runs great but needs that boost in FPS.
Help please!!

Lightbulb NGO Ati Drivers worked great for my laptop!

Hello Sacr3denigma,

Just wanted to tell you that I have a Acer laptop (see signature) with an ATI X1400 GPU and 2GB of RAM as well .... I had the NGO ATI Drivers install purrfectly on my system (when i had xp)...

This is the link to their latest release (windows xp/2000) , which I haven't tested ...

To be honest with all of you- I have the Driver Heaven Mobility Modder Drivers with the latest Catalyst 7.9... They work great- Why do you have them? I have Vista on this laptop now and the NGO ATI Drivers are for windows xp/2000 only, that I am aware of....

Here is the link to the Mobility Drivers from driver heaven :

DriverHeaven.net: DH Mobility Modder.NET

If you need help, feel free to post back

Hope I helped,

sincerely,

Edward

Thanks ill look at those. Also I am having an issue with running Counter Strike Source.
At any given time my laptop will lock up for a split second.
I know the difference when it overheats because it BOGS down and fps drops dramatically. I have a chill pad...Graphics are turned down to where everything looks dang near Counter strike. I have asked this same question multiple times and people keep saying its overheating and no its not because I play oblivion and it doesnt "Lock up"

Wish I had a clear answer for you, Sacr3denigma....I'll tell you this... I did have a problem with my laptop heating up very badly - It has the burnmarks to prove it- but I installed the latest BIOS for my computer model , and i think it solved the problem.... But, then again, that was for the overheating... My palms can rest warmly, not schorchingly on the laptop now!

Have you tried to see if they have a latest game patch for CS ? Maybe that can resolve some issues...

Well, also, if you can stand the thought of a reformat- try that - and make sure you are using the latest drivers (including chipset, video, audio, etc...) for your system.... Humm... I am also thinking you might have other programs open that are taking up resources? Maybe a malware infection? Dunno....

These are all suggestions/guesses from a average computer user... I'm no computer Giz Wiz lol !
Just thowing my 2 cents worth..

-Edward

What you're experiencing is more like a 'hiccup' than a 'lockup', right?

What are the RAM timings on your system?

I dont have any spyware on my laptop.
I update all my drivers when I can soon as I can.
Game updates its self via Steam.
Nothing runs in the background exception of Ventrilo/Xfire/and occasionally a web browser.
With that in mind my computer will still do the same with those off.
I virtually turn off almost every Service/StartUp/Process off that I do not use and thats safe to turn off.

I have looked for a BIOS update and have had no luck finding one so maybe someone else could find it? I have seriously looked on MSI's laptop support and found nothing based on my model and make.

Model:MSI MS-1039
From what I seen on MSI'S website is basically theres info on it but nothing exists for it...Which really makes no sense.

I thought maybe a BIOS update could help but after 5-10 hrs of looking for one over a course of a few days with no luck I gave up on the search.

Thanks for the replys hope to get some more

So, you don't know anything about how your RAM is set up? What timings are being used?

Ram wise...? I dont think it would matter on timing because its a laptop and you cannot modify them. As of speed I can tell you.

2gb dual channel 400mhz.
Corsair "value ram".
Now I have ran Stress tests/and other misc tests and all show green/passed/verified to be good.

I also have an update on the BIOS, I finally found the BIOS update...BUT...BUT!!
Doesnt seem to want to...let me say...Execute?
Link: MSI -- MICRO-STAR INT'L CO., LTD.

Now there are to different links and I have a 100GB 5400RPM ULTRA ATA 100 HARD DRIVE (Via Ctrl c/v from), I am assuming its a PATA
