Hi, I'm new here, even though I use the NGO drivers for some years now (2, IIRC).
For a long time I used the 2.5.6 (this is a *very old* version), because it had what I wanted: crystal clear 1280x800 res. I bought an LCD TV@1360x768. Since that NGO version didn't have that, I started trying new drivers.
Q1 - How can I change the source driver (ngo.inf) to include the resolution I want? Is it "doable", or is it more complicated than typing some lines here and there?
Q2 - Are any of you aware of a version that does have support for the mobility 9700 @ 1280x800 *and* 1360x768? I mean, I tried the 1.7.3 (Catalyst 7.3) but it does not have the 1360 resolution, and *neither* 1280x800 (just 1280x768, which is blurry).
Q3 - Are any of you aware of this bug: when I play videos on WMP, the video itself is displayed using only, like, 16 colors?!? The video is played normally when I deactivate the hardware accel. Also, that *old* NGO version (2.5.6) did *not* have this problem... Is that a bug?
And (take that as a noob question) why driver makers remove some resolutions from the newer versions? Specially if you consider that 1280x800 is perhaps, the most common used on any ati mobility card, I'm sure.
Of course, just for a change, Catalyst (7.9) official drivers don't even recognize my card! I guess the INF files don't have my device ID anymore!
Btw, whoever makes the NGO drivers, congratulations!!! I've been using it for years and it works. The omegas are good, too, but somehow there are more versions of the NGO that works for me than omegas. Sad that we only acknowledge that when we have a problem!!
Thank you.
