gonna try to install 7.2 and 7.1 if available and see if i get better luck

Regeneration has removed the SMARTGART from the drivers since "AGP is Dead".
You're not the only one fussing about it.

I have PCI-Express but i still think we sould keep up support for AGP because there is a lot of people with excellent systems and AGP slots.

#5 | | Member | Looks like i am shafted as well, the NGO drivers are the best i have used i must be honest but now i cannot install any other driver at all as no AGP speed is being reported and fast writes are turned off what seems like permanantly.
I have run various driver cleaners and registry cleaners to no avail |

I have run various driver cleaners and registry cleaners to no avail | You should try the latest Omegadrivers. There's an option to turn ON or OFF the Fast Writes and I'm sure the SmartGart is still present, too. But, I'm not using AGP based systems to test that on at present. Or, go to the Files here and look for the latest ones. Rege even posted about them yesterday in the News section.

#7 | | Member | It was trying them that made me see the problem mate, the AGP speed is simply reported as off, i did get fastwrites to be on but to be honest i am not overly bothered in them being on or off, i cant say i have noticed much difference eitherway. Installing the latest DNA drivers just fails to do anything at all and the latest cats just go in to a loop turning the monitor on and off .
The NGO drivers install first go everytime though so at least i can have decent performance still so its not all bad |

#9 | | Extreme Member | | GPU: Gainward Bliss 9600GT | | | RAM: 4G OCZ Reaper X DDR2 | | Just stepping in quick as Alnath and Dyre mentioned Omega Drivers. If you are using them make sure your Bios settings are set as he suggested all drivers are a bit different and he mentioned this to me years ago OmegaDrivers.net
Go to Quick Menu / Mother Board BIOS optimizations
Best of luck with your issue

The NGO drivers have always performed better then the Omega drivers for me anyway so with some look the good people that do the business will release a new optimised NGO driver soon. |
