Matt Ayers, a program manager with the Windows Client Performance team, touted the results on the group's blog. "We put quite a bit of effort into making sure that the new visuals were as efficient as possible, and it really paid off," he wrote. "You can run Aero without guilt!"

This is BULLSHIT! I can get 2x better visual effects on half the requirements vista/aero has with Beryl!

Dx9EX and Dx10 are both written to work while Aero Glass is running

the latest opengl ICD has been as well.

Aero glass has been shown to cause a 20% performance hit

for example

Aero Glass disabled
CSS runs at up to 160fps

with it enabled
Drops to 80fps :O

thats a 50% hit!

Well, AIGLX/Beryl provide waaay better effects then Aero does, while not hitting the performance that strong,...

XP had 200 bugs at release

Vista has just under 1000

A lot of bugs in XP Squall and I always felt with all the service packs they should have re-released it like they did with Win98 .... Win98 SE what do you think ?

It was just a joke ...
Microsoft claims a lot of things...

aah Win 98 se...still one of the best windows gaming platforms

hehehe, that maybe true but it's buggy and constant crash. I personally think that win2k is probably the most stable, although not the best performer.
