This is grave news indeed, free (and exelent) software like µTorrent shouldnt have any ties to the industry, a lot of good software have been destroyed with such alliances.

I seriously frown on this... uTorrent rocked the casbah, and now, what will we be left with?

This is like M$ buying Apple, http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=36104

Edit 1:So is utorrent to be opensource now. Maybe i'll finally have a linux version.

Edit 2:Maybe a good time to go here http://www.binarynotions.com/halite.php

Edit 3: Just read the FAQ "Q: Will the uTorrent code base be released into the open source?

A: The uTorrent code base will remain closed source."

I'm with the rest of you. I don't like this at all! µTorrent is an excellent client, but for the time being I guess I'll turn off the autoupdate feature.
