But however, we are committed to our users and readers, and they shouldn’t suffer just because Nvidia is acting lame. As we said already, we will start to boycott them in a few weeks. | | | | I just get annoyed you a bit | | | | Quote: |

What you see is what you get we don't sucumb to Pier Pressure as NV found out themselves on the SLI threat !! |

| Quote | | | | | Love these drivers!
P.S. Please keep on tweaking NVidia! | | | | After testing these drivers out on Egosofts X3 Reunion (v 2.0.02) two things happened.
1. The performance in game was visually improved (vs stock Nvidia set) noticably, the rolling demo of the game which includes a benchmark system backed that up 72 Nvidia to 85 NGO. I use that demo/benchmark instead of some synthetic lump of junk like futuremarks (who in there right mind is going to use twisted code like that in a game) benchmark systems.
2. The IQ has gone through the roof in this game (and others) with all settings on high/max and that auto quality when FPS hits low adjuster OFF, even in big and i do mean BIG space battles with many M5 M6 M7 ships (setup to test this out) and support ships in battles the IQ is stunning on effects and details.
The only question i have is..... Why if NGO can make such a highly noticable difference to IQ in theese tweaked drivers why do Nvidia not do this?
My own guess is they like sitting on the "be conservative fence" they have sat on for a number of years.
Keep up the good work people, you made an allready stunning eyecandy game even more stunning with this release. THX
For those who have not come across Egosofts X3 before. http://www.egosoft.com/games/x3/screenshots_en.php | | | | Quote: |

My own guess is they like sitting on the "be conservative fence" they have sat on for a number of years. | Maybe because they don’t mind to sacrifice their own customers - just to win against ATI in the benchmarks? |

What is becoming an annoying trend is with both main GPU makers is they release card xxxx and for upto 6 months after that some of the bits clearly stated in there press release about the card and the box the card comes in will not work untill THEY decide to release a driver with it enabled, or in some cases a BIOS needs flashed before it works as it states on the tin. This is the main reason i WONT buy a top of the range card for a few months when there released anymore, and since when was v1.0 of anything 100% working! | | | | Since the GeForce FX incident – Nvidia is doing their best to push ATI and play dirty. That’s why they rushing out with half-ready products, and release products without any software support. They are acting like they don’t care about the consumers and will to sacrifice us just to beat ATI. They are doing many mistakes like releasing Quad SLI and G80 without any proper software just to beat ATI.
It’s just a matter of time until they will make some mistake due of their ‘rush to the market tactic’. Instead of trying to be ‘better’ then ATI, they are just rushing out and playing dirty. As I already said, its just matter of time. People are paying for their mistakes. | | | | Thanks alot for these NGO :P | | | | Quote: |
