| | | Nvidia Launches GeForce 8800 and nForce 680 | PC enthusiasts around the world have a lot to be excited about today as NVIDIA Corporation, the worldwide leader in programmable graphics processor technologies, introduced two new product families that transform the PC into the premier gaming platform: the GeForce 8800 graphics processing unit (GPU), and the NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI media and communications processor (MCP) designed specifically for Intel Core 2 Quad and Core 2 Duo processors. These two new product families represent the hardware foundation that allows users to start building their own definitive gaming PC platforms to experience high-resolution, high-performance gaming and stellar high-definition visuals.
"We set out to build the ultimate platform for PC gaming and high-definition video," said Jen-Hsun Huang, president and CEO at NVIDIA. "There is no better way to experience Windows Vista, DirectX 10, HD-DVD, and Blu-ray than with a PC powered by GeForce 8800 and nForce 680i SLI. Our announcement today is the culmination of four years of research and development and represents the biggest technological leap we have ever made. Gamers are going to be blown away."
The GeForce 8800 GPUs are the world's first to support Microsoft DirectX® 10, the next-generation programming interface that will be introduced with the upcoming Microsoft Vista operating system.
"The raw performance and visual effects of the new GeForce 8800 GTX is just going to knock your socks off," said Pat Gelsinger, Senior Vice President, General Manager, Digital Enterprise Group at Intel. "Intel's Core 2 Quad and Core 2 Duo combined with the GeForce 8800 GTX and SLI technology delivers the most compelling visual experience the world has ever seen." Reviews: Beyond3D, Bit-Tech, Bjorn3D, DriverHeaven, EliteBastards, ExtremeTech, GamePyre, Guru3D, HardOCP, Hexus, HotHardware, NeoSeeker, NordicHardware, PC Perspective, Motherboards, ViperLair, T-Break, Technic3D, TechPowerUp!, The Tech Report and TweakTown. As you can see, the entire world and their dogs have received materials from Nvidia for the G80 Launch – except of us. No materials, briefings, documentations or anything to the one of most biggest GPU focused software/hardware site. As result of this action, we will start dropping our support and focus towards Nvidia in the future. A site that offers a lot of GPU stuff and information for the public, we deserve at least the basic treatment. If Nvidia has no respect for us, and our readers – then we shouldn’t work so hard to provide their customers with some cool stuff and info. Now we will be focusing on ATI instead - unlike Nvidia, ATI is respecting us and providing us with the stuff we need. Press Release

| | | | 12 Comments | | | That's comical! I always fancied the "N" in ngo to be related with Nvidia . Clearly I have no idea what NGO stands for. I'm can't afford to get sick of nvidia since they're offering the best Linux drivers and that's what I need, fullstop. But hey they haven't supported the G80 on Linux either! If that one issue was fixed then I'd be among the many people powering their Nforce systems with ATI graphics .
The entire world = Hexus, neoseeker, tweaktown (typpo?), elitebastards
And their dogs = Viperlair, motherboards, nordichardware (WTF?), T-break | | | | T-break is cool too.. they are based in Dubai, AE. Probably the only website in the Middle East.. aslong with us. | | | | And the same story repeats itself over and over again... | | | | To Unixlord, NGO = New Generation Order, I think.
To comment on the first post, Noooooooooo!!! I was just about to go for a nVidia Card. Maybe I should wait or get an ATi. | | | | as usual ill say nvidia u suck for your ignorance and narrow minded behavior...
on another note REG what bout approaching importers for sample products?
like cd-log? my guess would say they have samples of products they are selling specially the high end.? | | | | Quote: |

One time I spoke with them about some mid-range card, I really wanted to have a review of it so I asked them if I can jump by and to test it there - they said no. So I asked them if I can buy it for a double price, they said no again. So I told CD-LOG that they can go F... themselves. |

| Quote | | | | | i am pritty much amazed by their response after all its promoting products they are selling specially when they only gain by letting you test their products.

Since you're dropping the Nvidia coverage I'll stop coming to your site and eating up your bandwidth. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Thanks for providing me with reviews, drivers and interesting forum discussion over the past year. I've always appreciated your boldness and straight-forward approach to technology and it's related topics. I'll still recommend my ATI friends to your site. Take care of yourself! | | | | Quote: |

Take care of yourself! | I’m sorry but we don’t like to embrace ourselves with the lack of knowledge. If we are not getting any information and documents – how the hell can we write anything about it?
How can we report to our readers about what’s going on, when we have no idea ourselves? You want to read reviews and news right? How can we write reviews if Nvidia is telling their partners “do not give anything to NGOHQ.com”?
Nvidia don’t want us to inform you with what’s going on – blame them for it, not us. Everyone has received some piece from Nvidia, but everyone! Even sites with 1000% less readers then us (Including car magazines!) and they gave us nothing, except of the hour of the official launch. We had to guess the other details and based on leaks. We want materials and information not for ourselves – but for you guys.
If they are treating us like we are not that important, how come there are so many Nvidia employees visiting this site on a daily basis? |

sad for people that likes nvidia but its a correct reaction for that imo.
i hope that ngo site still anounces "basics" news about nvidia, for get all the actual information.
