Splinter Cell: Double Agent 1.01 Patch
Posted by Regeneration on November 8th, 2006, 07:12 AM

Today we're releasing an update for SCDA on PC. This fixes various online play issues, mostly concerning invitations and squad features. Some disconnection issues have also been addressed. Some minor features have been tweaked in the single player part, particularly with respect to anti-aliasing.

I just got a new Nvidia 8800 GTS video card, and Double Agent will no longer run. I then did some research on the internet and discovered that no one with a 8800 series video card can play this game. Apparently Ubisoft doesn't care enough about its costumers to even try to make their games playable on modern hardware. On top of that, the game is unplayable sluggish on even slightly old hardware. Brilliant sales strategy! Alienate both the enthusiast/gamer market and the casual gamer/mid range PC market. You can't lose! (Unless of course you're interested in making money or keeping a happy costumer base.) Well, I can say one thing for sure: if the game isn't made playable within two weeks, I'm getting a refund. Why pay 50 bucks just to stare at some pretty box art?
