We mounted up on the Asus Crosshair motherboard. The existing mounting solution was removed to make way for the Thermalright. Four spring loaded screws affix the heatsink to the mounting plate below the board. It does mean you will have to remove your motherboard to mount, but it is very secure when it is in place. We had no issues with it fitting into our case, but of course we were using the roomy Coolermaster Stacker 830 with a burnt orange custom finish.
