Mozilla Firefox project (formerly Firebird, which was formerly Phoenix) is a redesign of Mozilla's browser component, written using the XUL user interface language and designed to be cross-platform.

There's nothing wierd about that. The official firefox page is still displaying 1.5.0.6 too. It normally takes a while until they get the update and announcments done but you can still download it from their ftp. By the way firefox 2.0 is not so far off, they've already frozen the features to squish a few bugs before release.
