Microsoft Will Not Release DirectX 10 for Windows XP @ X-bit labs

During a DirectX 10-related event in London, UK, Richard Huddy, ATI Technologies’ software developers relations chief, said that Microsoft’s Vista will integrate DirectX 10 and DirectX 9 APIs for different types of hardware, but the current Windows XP will not get DirectX 10 support, as suggested some rumours earlier. For end users this means that to get the most advantages of the new-generation graphics processing units (GPUs), the new OS will be required.

EDIT. So we gonna have those who has superB hardware and plays new games , and the rest of users. Cool , someone gonna say , "but you will be able to play new games in x32 wersion".
Yes if companies gonna make them , and the other thing is how will they look and perform , if the games gonna be writen for DX10 (whith they say gonna be muth diffrent from DX9). Remember playng DX9 games on GPUs that only support DX8

Its gonna be like with the G.R.A.W. , on the Xbox the game rocks , on curent gen. consoles its totaly crap , its just diffrent game.

I would brother but seems the Corporate Mindf**k we know as MS has already put Longhorn in its grave as they intended

I think if you storm MS and Mr. Burns(Gates) you will find Mr Burns cozy and reading his email with Red Hat Linux
