ATi Catalyst 6.5 with Control Panel
Posted by Regeneration on May 24th, 2006, 11:49 PM

We have noticed that some people still prefer to use the old ATI Control Panel over the Catalyst Control Center. As a result I have decided to incorporate the Control Panel into the newly released Catalyst 6.5s.

I'm curious how you make this work. Can you explain if I have this right?

You take the root and BIN directories and WDM_ALL directory from the CCC install (I don't think WDM_ALL is necessary, is it?). CPanel comes from the 5.12 CP install package. Is that it, or do you have to modify anything?

BTW, the latest ATI CP release I've seen is from v6.3 (in the FireMV section), which is about three months newer than 5.12 (the files are differently sized, so it's not just a timestamp thing). ATI seems to update that one every couple versions at best.

Thanks

Hi @ all...

first of all thx for the great work -ATI Catalyst CP works pretty fine on my desktop...
But I got a problem with your CP Version of Catalyst 6.5 on my notebook -normally it was possible to patch the drivers with DHModtool3 ( http://www.driverheaven.net/patje/ ) -when I do this with your version of the Catalyst 6.5, there´s only the driver installed, but without CP...

... it was my fault! Works perfect!!!

What I did when they first stopped supporting the CP, was when I uninstalled I left the control panel installed, and just installed the display drivers when I installed new drivers. That worked fine.
