ATi Radeon X1900 Preview
Posted by Regeneration on January 24th, 2006, 04:12 PM

X1900 comes in three flavors – the XTX (MSRP $649), XT (MSRP $549), and Crossfire (MSRP $599) editions. Architecturally the X1900XTX and XT are the same; the only difference between these two cards is the speed of both core and memory. The flagship X1900XTX is clocked at 650 MHz for the core and 1.55 GHz for the memory, while the X1900XT is clocked just slightly slower at 625 MHz for the core and 1.45 GHz for the memory.

Very true, but most of us would opt for an X1900XTX over a couple of el-cheapo systems if given the chance. My two kids would have to miss out on their own computers and just be content watching me play games at insane framerates instead

This is perfect. My plans for a X-fired x1800 setup just got replaced by a couple of x1900's. It'll only run me about $1,100 or $1,200 for the graphics cards, and I'm ready to pay that this year. I hope they start making some dual-CPU boards with the RD580 chipset to go along with these cards soon. The only problem is, where the heck am I going to get a PSU big enough to run everything?

500w should be enough for Crossfire.
