"Video cards have become faster and more capable over the years, but regardless of how many polygons they render or what special effects are applied to each pixel, all that data appears on the same flat, two-dimensional screen. Most games are 3D, so shouldn't we be able to view them in 3D?

The eDimensional 3D glasses communicate wirelessly with your PC system.
EDimensional thinks so, and its proposed solution is the E-D Wireless Glasses 3D Vision System. These are neither the old red-and-blue anaglyph glasses our parents suffered with nor the superior polarized shades used in 3D IMAX theaters. Instead, the company took an active approach to 3D by installing a small see-through LCD screen where each lens should be. When activated, the display on your computer monitor separates into two overlapping frames, and each LCD in the pair of glasses cycles between being completely black and being completely see-through several times per second. When one eye sees the screen, the other one doesn't. So by alternating the two views quickly enough, the ED Wireless Glasses System generates an extremely convincing 3D effect."
