Faster, more secure, easier to use and sporting a new look, this latest Firefox release sets a new standard for web browser innovation. Mozilla Firefox project (formerly Firebird, which was formerly Phoenix) is a redesign of Mozilla's browser component, written using the XUL user interface language and designed to be cross-platform. It is small, fast and easy to use, and offers many advantages over other web browsers, such as the tabbed browsing and the ability to block pop-up windows.

Changes:
Fixed stability issue for some AMD Radeon HD graphics cards on Windows 8.

The only browser that seems to have kept its sanity is Opera.

Does opera have some sort of greasemonkey or tampermonkey support?

I don't know, since I don't use it. But it hasn't gone OH LOOK BIG VERSION NUMBERS AND TOTALLY GREAT UPDATES yet it seems.

Though I should probably go ahead and check Opera out for real some time soon.

I moved to Opera yesterday.
From the functionality I need, it misses the xmarks and pixrl grabber addon equivalents. The problem supposedly relies on lacking Opera API, an issue which should be fixed in near future.

However, xmarks is easily replaceable by Opera Link, which can be used to sync your multiple Opera browsers.
For screenshot grabbing there's the screenhotter addon, which is not as good as pixlr but still OK. I'll probably move to lightshot down the line since it has an editor as well.

Another thing I missed was chatzilla addon from firefox. Opera comes with its chat and mail clients, however since I prefer chatzilla I just grabbed the portable standalone (experimental) version which works OK.

The memory usage of Opera is somewhat the same as that of firefox, but now I do have another separate application in form of chatzilla, which is far from perfect, obviously. For the time being, Opera seems to be a bit faster and definitively less buggy so I'll stik with it. At lest until they go apeshit as well.
At that time I'll maybe have to resort to some text based browser. Or maybe just use curl to grab what I need.

I experienced some problems with slow loading on generally all pages, it turned out one of the extensions was causing the issue.

So, if you see the browser taking its sweet time to load and render the pages, disable all the addons and see if that helps. That is, if you're like me and like to go wild with the extensions.
