Oh damn, "Fixes instances where the GeForce GTX 590 fan unnecessarily increased to 100%"

People have lived with that somehow for months? I probably would of took a hammer to it!

Oh yeah, I forgot about that massive failure of a driver. How breaking the fan gets past QA is beyond me.

Because it didn't occur during QA, as QA follows standard upgrade instructions (uninstall first).

the problem only occured where the RxThermal keys were not nulled and recreated during the driver overinstall

^^^ Shitty quality testing process if they always follow a set route.

I would love to get a "behind the scenes" look at how AMD+Nvidia do "QA".

They both always seem to fail miserably in that department. It's almost as if they have a competition to see who has the worst QA.

I still remember a few years ago when the 5870's fan would turn to 100% during boot up until the CCC loaded. Sounded like a jet was taking off each time I turnt my PC on! I know it was fast, but damn!

My 4870 does the same, but I kind of don't mind it doing so at least I'm sure it's working. If I didn't hear that sound, now that would be worrying.

Good old 4870, had one for a long time and finally sold it last year. But never had that fan issue while booting my pc. Just in Windows I would manually set the fan higher for gaming with ATITOOL and/or with ATITRAY TOOLS which both worked.
