Intel Core i7 920 Processor Contest Winner Announced
Posted by Regeneration on November 9th, 2009, 04:00 PM

After much time reading and debating, we finally decided upon a winner for the recent Intel Core i7 920 Processor Contest. First of all, I must say it wasn't easy to pick a winner from over a hundred posts. But unfortunately, it wasn't too hard either... although he's no longer with us - it felt like many of the contenders were inspired by Billy Mays. With that being said and without further ado, I'd like to announce the winner:

Darthcyclonis with his post: "Please NGOHQ... For Just one Intel Core i7 920 processor, you could help feed a cold and hungry 4870X2 crossfire setup. This processor alone stands between FPS life and death to these poor GPU's. They are currently bottle necked and bandwidth starved by a helpless, old and overworked Q6600 with a failing core who is struggling to provide for her GPU twins. Please Help Ruby and Sapphire. Donate today!"

Congratulations! Please send me a private message as soon as possible with your details and full address to claim your prize. And to those who didn't win: Don't worry! Maybe you will get lucky next time. We are working hard to bring you another interesting contest in the near future. Until then - stay tuned. Oh, yeah, I'd like to thank Intel for sponsoring this contest.

Seriously, this was imo the best post

Win an Intel Core i7 920 Processor Contest

I know that isn't exactly a regular member, but that was the most inspired post if you ask me.

Congrats Darthcyclonis. It looks like you'll need to get a new motherboard and possibly ram to go with the new processor.

Nice one, grats :P

OK, since no one else said it - I'd like that Q6600 donated to me. It's still better than my E2200, failing core or not

Btw, person would that someone with 4870X2 could afford to buy himself a new CPU on his own, not competing against us poor people :P

EDIT: OK, ok, so that people don't get a wrong impression - CONGRATZ MAN!

My fastest rig is a Compaq w/Athlon 64 X2 5600+ @ 2.8 Ghz with a Ge Force 9600 GT 1GB PCIe X16 and although the board claims it supports PCIe 2.0, SiSoft Sandra '09 claims I am running 1.0. That person HAS to be related to you.Can I have the user's old quad core? PLEASE!!!!!!??????

The goal of the contest was to give the processor to someone who is creative , not to the person who have the oldest rig on the board ! BTW congrats !

Truthfully I can't beleive I won. I think this is the first time I have won anything on an online contest. Again I will post some picks once I have the new system together. Thanks again everyone.
