Perhaps it doesn't fully utilize DX11 - but it does support tessellation. | | | Posted by SpectatorX on October 28th, 2009, 05:53 PM | Tesselation in theory should work only with dx11 gpus, but i can run tesselation in this benchmark with my hd3850gpu which is dx10.1 only. | | | Posted by zme-ul on October 28th, 2009, 06:23 PM | tessellation is one power hungry function | | | Posted by lol on October 28th, 2009, 07:46 PM | spectarox u can enable it, but u can't see it! | | | Posted by Shinzok on October 28th, 2009, 11:07 PM | how do you get that nice table saying the performance stats ?? | | | Posted by IModAmd on October 29th, 2009, 02:50 AM | AMD shows the Tesselation capabilities since the HD2900 ! Not a new feature DUH! | | | Posted by Unregistered on October 29th, 2009, 11:02 AM | tessellation is supported on older cards with a DX11 wrapper. in this case the tessellation is being handled by the CPU. | | | Posted by Unregistered on October 29th, 2009, 03:27 PM | Quote:

Tessellation is not enabled for any non-DX11 GPU even if you select DX11 mode. Have any of you even run the benchmark to test your random assertions?

*sigh* | mmmmmmmmmm... no Quote: |
Although the GPU accelerated tessellation is much faster than the CPU version, but it nevertheless costs a lot of performance. On a Radeon HD 5870 in DX 11 mode the frames per second drop by 39 percent as soon as tessellation is activated

And I think dx 10 gpu should be able to run Tessellation Because the Xbox 360 can and its not even Dx 10 it's a customize Dx 9 from what I understand. | |
