AMD Ladybug DirectX 11 Demo
Posted by Regeneration on October 25th, 2009, 02:05 AM

The Ladybug demo shows the results of a new approach to simulating lens-accurate depth-of-field effects based on real-world parameters of focal length and focus distance. This technique is made possible by the ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series of graphics processors and the Microsoft DirectX 11 and Direct Compute 11 technologies. Depth-of-field is used in feature films by cinematographers to subtly guide a viewer’s attention through a shot or to heighten the emotion of a scene.

Is there anyway to make these so they can run on DX10.1 cards? I'm able to run the Unigine demos but neither of the ATI demos will even start. "No supported graphics card....."

Erm, I'm not sure. Try to edit Sushi.ini and set display.d3d11Required to false.

Working out a way to actually change the setting. "Access denied" is what I'm getting so far.

EDIT: Managed to change the Sushi.ini file with "false" as recommended. Still fails....

EDIT: May be a silly question, but, what if I copied over a SushiCoreD3D10.dll from a previous ATI Demo?

EDIT2: Hahaha...guess what!? I actually got a screen and, the demo was actually running! I just couldn't see anything other than the splash screen.

EDIT3: I was able to generate an error log again... Still got the Splash Screen showing the Yellow flower and the Ladybug....

Yes, it seems to be hardware locked to DX11 cards only. Guess I'll have to be content to view some videos of it for now.
