Interview with LucidLogix's Offir Remez
Posted by Regeneration on September 27th, 2009, 11:50 AM

LucidLogix is getting a lot of media coverage with their vendor-independent approach to scaling graphics performance. Given that the promise of putting both ATI and nVidia graphics cards [and Larrabee in the future] in the single system is somewhat of a dream we decided to sit down and talk with Offir Remez, co-founder, President and VP of Business Development at LucidLogix Inc. In a brief interview, we learned more about Lucid Hydra 200, a second generation chip as well as how LucidLogix created a chip that can serve more purposes than one.

BSN: Hi Offir, thanks for taking the time to talk with us. Can you familiar our readers with the company, tell us a little bit more about LucidLogix?
Offir: I am co-founder, president and VP of Business Development over at LucidLogix. We are four year old company and have been working hard on this project. As you know, any decent engineering project takes 3-4 years of development in order to come to market with a mature product.
The company has 60 employees, most of them working in engineering. The work of the team was awarded with more than 50 patents in relation to our technology, and we are now ramping up in Taiwan and in the USA [LucidLogix is an Israeli company, Ed.].

We work with majority of Top 5 motherboard makers. I cannot disclose the number right now, but we have multiple chips on offer and you should see them starting to come to market during the final quarter of this year [starting on October 1st, ending on December 31st, Ed.]
When Moses came down that mountain and read the tenth commandment, there is no way in hell he knew someone will break that order by craving for a lousy chip lol

Well they have made it on MSI mobos which are coming soon, so I guess we will all be able to see if this chip is all they say it is. I really hope it works and works well because it sounds like a good idea the only down side if you want to call it that is that the chip only works its magic in windows 7.

MSI are launching this Hydra chip in their new range of "Big Bang" mobo's.......they have just launched the range now but the first in this Big Bang series don't actually have the hydra chip......god how much longer is this going to take.....thought this was going to be released today.
