It seems that Microsoft’s unreleased Windows 7 operating system got cracked already. Just a few days after its RTM version was leaked to torrent trackers, A pirates group called iAPULA has released a tool which emulates BIOS SLIC table with HP OEM license data in it. The result is a fully activated product, if combined with the correct HP OEM serial number. To refresh your memories, this is the same way pirates used in the past to activate Windows Vista. It looks like Windows 7 is going to suffer from a lot of piracy too. Especially after Microsoft hasn’t offered any attractive upgrade option to Vista owners Windows 7 Beta Testers.
Windows 7 will be officially available to customers around the world on October 22, and Windows Server 2008 R2 will be generally available on or before that date. As always, current customers of the Windows Volume Licensing program, Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) subscribers and TechNet subscribers will be among the first to get customer access to Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 in the coming weeks.
Windows 7 is built on the secure foundation of Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008. Performance, reliability, security, and compatibility are core tenets of this release as we collect your feedback to meet our engineering goals of making Windows 7 the best-performing and most stable Windows operating system to date. New innovations in the product are designed to augment your ability as an IT professional to better provision and manage increasingly mobile PCs, protect data, and improve both end-user and personal productivity.
