Fraps and the Lexmark drivers are no longer working! and that's without using their Defense stuff. | | | | i dont see the use in it, spywaredoctor is better for spyware and antivir is a better anti virus, software firewalls are useless so all in all this thing is pointless | | | | I have a very good friend in NY who has a friend who Highly recommends...to the point of INSISTING....that my friend use this. He tried it and had so many problems he didn't know where to begin trying to fix them. | | | | Quote:

You don't only need inbound protection from a routers firewall, but also the outbound protection a software firewall provides. Of course there are hardware based firewalls that can control outbound and inbound access, but the majority of users use software based firewalls for outbound access control. I do agree with you though... COMODO is pointless. Terrible company. | | | | I agree with Mr. Unregistered on software firewalls. Blocking outbound connections via hardware firewall could take time and its annoying. Its easier with software firewall at interactive mode. | | | | So what exactly is wrong with Comodo's firewall module, on a technical level? | | | | Quote:

Even if its completely disabled. | | | | Hmmm, it has worked very well for my XP64 computer, but I haven't updated to the most recent one yet. I will say FRAPS works fine when I had it installed. I disabled or did not allow the Proactive Defence while installing and I don't need it's antivirus, just the firewall. Maybe if it had been enabled, disable it then restart the computer.
The only major problem with Comodo firewall that I can recall was that the Proactive Defence will give a high CPU usage when it is enabled on your computer with a custom uxtheme.dll , this was I think 2 years ago and probably has long been fixed, but as said, I don't use Proactive Defence.
Good luck with it, or use a different firewall. | | | | I don't use Fraps and I don't have a Lexmark printer. Since version 3.0, I've had no problems with it. I use only the firewall module.
I've used a lot of commercial firewalls, and I like Comodo a lot. The only other firewall I like is Look 'n' Stop. Tiny firewall too, back in the day. | | | | I use this shit often and it seems to work fine on many XP SP3 machines. I never encountered any issues, only here on work sometimes firewall blocks my internet connection so I have to disable/re-enable the firewall.
If I wasn't so damn lazy, I would reinstall it and that would probably fix the issue. | | |
