Game Booster 1.0
Posted by Regeneration on April 21st, 2009, 07:49 PM

Designed to help optimize your PC for smoother, more responsive game play in the latest PC games with the touch of a button, Game Booster helps achieve the performance edge previously only available to highly technical enthusiasts. It works by temporarily shutting down background processes, cleaning RAM, and intensifying processor performance. That means you can keep all the features of Microsoft Windows Vista and XP ready for when you need them, but turn them off when you are ready to get down to serious business – gaming.

Game Booster makes it simpler to enjoy the latest games and take your experience to a new level. Extremely easy to use. Its intuitive interface makes Game Booster the perfect tool for complete computer dummies. Game Booster gives more CPU and RAM to your games, making your games running at the peak performance. Game Booster prevents and avoids possible conflicts and incompatibility, by temporarily closing background processes and unnecessary Windows services.

reminds me of the tool AMD made Fusion

yea it looks like its pretty much the same thing

I'd like to see some benchmarks with different systems.

well I havent used this one but I have used fusion quite a bit, my system is just powerful enough to run certain games at max so I do notice a difference If I use it, the games run nice and smooth, but I mean it doesnt do a whole lot that terminating all the un-necissary processes wouldnt do but its alot easier then going through the hassle of doing it manually.
Quote
Ehh gonna give it a try , just for the sake of GTA4 , but i normaly keep away from soft like this and defrag mem/tweak manualy.
Quote
Yea i do too but above and beyond that this does help, unless you want to manually shut down all processes every time before you play a game, it probably doesnt make much difference on higher end systems but on an old rig like mine it does help.

I wonder if it has support for Win7, and how it performs overall.
Quote
It works in Win 7 but i dont think they support it

These so-called optimization utilities such as these ones are only good for outdated systems that can just barely run the latest games. If you're using them, it's time to upgrade.

People with slow systems who are helplessly trying to run the latest games. Running the game while profiting fully sucks. What's so wrong with bringing out the older titles? For fuck's sake... when I had my Pentium 3, I kept playing the GOOD LOD stuff 'till the new system came, I didn't try installing programs like these.

because once i beat a game i typically never touch it again, and as games evolve old games quickly become boring and out dated, what the point of caving into old crappy games when you have the possibility to still run new games? its just accepting defeat, weak, I squeeze every last bit of life out of my system, still playing new games on this rig at max.

Theres very few games that age well, and all the ones that would still be worth playing ive already played and will likely never play again, its like watching a movie more then once I just dont see the point, i know exactly what happens its just not entertaining anymore.

That tool works on Intel as well. There's a fix to enable it.

Anyway, the last time I used some software like this one, I had to reinstall my OS as some games started stuttering heavily.

I say "Know thy system".

This is not true for many games and even some movies.

not really that many, very few games have an real replay value, most just give you perks if you play again or you can play with a different character but the story remains thesame, there is very very few games that ive come across that have real replay value.

As per movies, well I havent seen a movie yet that I dont know what happens after watching it lol unless of course i fell asleep part way through

Any good reviews? Whats the feedback like ?

I'll name only a few games that had/have loads of replay value (from those I have played) and IMO

- GTA SA and VC both (thanks to loose scripting where same goals can be reached through various venues)
- X3: Reunion in which you're free to do as you like inside set limits (even though it does have a set of scripted missions, some sort of a storyline, but its more or less optional)
- some smaller titles like Mount&Blade or Space Rangers (featuring RPG elements with open ended development of events)
- some older titles like Baldur's Gate
- typical sport sims - even though they are immensely repetitive, they always have you coming for more (if you are a fan of such titles, of course)

Among movies, there are many titles that have a strong afterthought and often leave questions unanswered, that is until you watch them a few times. I guess this wouldn't make sense to a person who treats movies as disposable, one time experiences. I'll name a few here, also

- Godfather I and II
- Carlito's way
- Casino
- Heat
- Terminator I and II (these don't fit in the bunch, but nevertheless they had that effect on me)
- Good fellas (they just don't make them as they used to, anymore)
- Pulp fiction (to some extent)

There are more B and even C production movies I watched that tinkled my imagination, but most of them I can't even remember the titles (watched them usually in wee hours), so fuck me I guess.

GTA, not so much, when i beat a game i do it 100% so once youve done everything in gta theres no much else to do, the only real replay appeal of gta is going back for a mass killing spree to kill 15 minutes or so

baldurs gate was one, i beat that one a few time, great game, and to a lesser extent all the spin off's like icewind dale and then NWN, once they got all the bugs fixed.

Sims...well sims was interesting for about 30 minutes

Open world games are cool but again once you do everything there is to do the nthere is no point in doing it again.

as per movies, ill agree the ones you listed were great movies but i wouldnt go out of my way to watch them again unless i really had nothing else to do or watch

B and C movies are great, evil dead rocked lol
