|  | | Wrestling Game Blamed For Child's Death | 
Friends of 9-year-old Damori Miles of Brooklyn, New York, claim the boy was imitating moves from WWE SmackDown vs Raw when he jumped off of his apartment rooftop to his death wearing a makeshift parachute. The boy's was found on the ground outside his apartment building at 7pm on Tuesday night, wrapped in the string and plastic he used to try and recreate a parachute in order to dive off of his thirteen story apartment building. He died an hour later at the Interfaith Medical Center.
It's a tragic story, made even more upsetting by the amount of focus the video game angle is being given by the mainstream media. The source is one of Damori's friends, 11-year-old Shakar Murrel. From this we get headlines like the New York Daily News' "9-year-old Damori Miles dies in jump off Brooklyn apartment, may have been imitating video game", and "Boy fond of video game wrestler's swan dives makes plastic parachute, takes NY roof death leap" from News Channel 3 in Norfolk, Virginia.

I play a lot of Left 4 Dead recently, but you never saw me dragging people with my tongue, or jumping on people from roof-tops, or even barfing green-stuff-that-attract-zombies on people while shouting “ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh”. |

Which is of course a completely valid wrestling move. In fact, it's one of the most commonly seen moves. Just without the 'chute, cause the people on TV are pros. The chute is for beginners. So that kid did everything right. Except for the fact that he jumped from the roof instead of the ropes.
But the fatal mistake was that his "Parachute Piledriver" (or "fall" as its is sometimes referred to) wasn't broken by another wrestler, but the ground.

A parachute? I would say the kid was watching cartoons or a television show rather than being influenced to copy a non-existing action or item in that wrestling game.

i was just thinking if that kid was retarded enough to kill himself in such a very ingenuine way (he could have at least tried tying ground to air missiles to his legs, too many have pulled the parachute stunt before), would he have grown to be a valuable member of society?
