| | | | 23 Comments | | | How about making OpenGL work properly, so developers don't have to make special work around hacks just for ATI crapware. | | | | you couldn't hold yourself and crap again on ati... | | | | When ATI's OpenGL follows the specs properly and stops requiring adjustments away from the standard, i'll stop shitting on them. | | | | squall you bitch alot but have you ever tried it? ive never had any issues with opengl games on ant ati cards, it runs fine. Your posts are getting lame and predictable man | | | | Of course it works for you.
By the time the app, gets to you, the hacks to make it ati friendly are already included. Don't post shit you can't ascertain or even comprehend to think about.
The point is, these hacks shouldn't be required to make an app work on all hardware. | | | | What ever happened to common courtesy, nothing nice to say dont say it at all?
you act as if this is the only bad thing any company has ever done.
stop shitting on history you badie | | | | Courtesy went out with the rise of Capitalism
And when it comes to ATI, this is the only bad thing they keep doing, and doing, and doing, and it'll go on through time until they get the message to get their frickin acts together in the developing market.
They seriously wonder why they have so many issues with new release games. | | | | So why dont we all ride the fail boat to extinction?
You dont have to lower yourself like all other political figures.
These are all people, and where the hell does a penis fit in with ati and OpenGL?
I like how forums can become fanboy slug outs in one hostile post.... | | | | Quote:

I like how forums can become fanboy slug outs in one hostile post.... | Funny thing is, i don't have a problem with ATI, the hardware is sound and is capable of far better, if they could get the drivers working properly. | | | | | | I didn't read anything about discontinuing support in 9.4 :\, are there any reports of this on the ati forum? | | | | it was late yesterday, or better yet very early morning and I just downloaded them without installing
what card you have kirill? | | | | | | Quote:

It totally stop displaying video on both displays and TV. I had to go into safe mode uninstall driver and unhook all displays but one and reinstall. I hope this is not a problem in the future.
C | | | | Yet again I had to remove so many posts, because some guys are unable to communicate. How old are you? 10? You are supposed to be adults, so act like adults. Just because you have different views, it doesn’t mean you have to insult each other, like little children in kindergarten.
Now squall_leonhart, if you want people to seriously take your claims, I suggest you come up with a complete research to prove it. Every time ATI release a new driver, you are repeating yourself without providing any solid evidence. We support freedom of speech and that’s why we have a blog section, that would a good place to post your "Why X/Y Suck in OpenGL" research. | | | | Seems like i stuck with 9.3 forever then ..
Is there any way to put support in 9.4 and higher for x1950pro? | | | | Quote:

Freedom of speech my ass.
Well known flaws in the driver.
Texture formats that are defined in the OGL standard are not properly supported in ATI drivers, Textures must be locked to 4 bytes otherwise they are handled by the opengl softraster instead, and incur a 50% performance hit.
DirectX 10 was meant to remove all these hack requirements for shaders on different hardware, yet its turned out that ATI needs yet more to match the same functionset as Nvidia.
And again.... the cross platform compatibility DOES NOT EXIST. |

| | | | | | AMD/ATI says as of 9.4 they will no longer support older cards. Check the list before you download. I tried to install 9.4s and they wouldn't go in. Any take on that? | | | | Quote:

and yet somehow their cards still perfom quite well in ogl. how was dx10 supposed to fix an ogl bug?
oh what will nv do when ati releases that lost 50% of performance you mentioned?
routinely, you spew this counter-productive vitriol, with every new ati driver.
why?, no one is sure but you.
in fact, more folks here will begin to ignore you as you repeat this same story monthly.
is that what you want to accomplish?
do you play ogl games on ati cards?
are you losing business because of this alleged terrible bug?
you act as though you have some vested interest and you talk about ati like they were your ex-girlfriend.
why do you care enough to complain and even rant about it?
do you have a goal?
(the above are rhetorical questions on my part, perhaps you should ask yourself) |
