Norton Removal Tool 2009.0.5.26
Posted by Chaos on February 16th, 2009, 09:19 PM

For those that are either unlucky and purchased a new computer with Norton installed or you are just ill informed, Symantec has released a new tool to remove failed or damaged installations. Trust me, anyone that has had to manually remove any Norton product can appreciate a tool like this.

Crap removal of crap leftovers of crap OEM pre-installs

It's either this tool or a rather large sledgehammer. There's only two ways this can end and in both of them Norton dies!

I've had used this quite a bit in the Geek Squad and I must say it does what is supposed to.

Actually, I have Norton 360 v2.0 installed on my desktop, and I can say that I am very pleased with it. Nice interface. and this release is actually very light and fast. It's not like I paid for it (free Geek Squad copy)

Norton Anti-Virus really kicked ass a few years ago. Now it got bloated, messy, and full of annoying library files and it is even impossible to uninstall it fully. The fact they released this tool clearly proves these claims. Instead of releasing removal tool, they should rewrite it.

Norton has been bloated shit since 2002

actually i tend to disagree on the still bloated since 2009 has shown some impressive improvments over previous versions and so i would recommend you try it for your selfs or at least read a serius review about it my 2 cents on the 2009.
and on other notes it can be more then a mess to install and to remove incase issues arise along the way..

norton does what its suppose to do and more, i have no problems with it. iam using norton 360 for 2 years now with vista ultimate with no hic-ups of any sort. just understand that a pc with aleast 2gb of ram and a dual core or core 2 duo processors are recommended. dont expect good performance from a slow pc. otherwise stick to avast or nod32.
