* Why there is an anti-leech protection on AMD’s website?
* Why are they using PDF for the release notes?
* What about game optimizations and fixes for latest games such as GTA IV?
* Why their HDMI support is still so poor?
* Where are these Crossfire optimizations they promised us?
* Why their built-in gamma feature broken? | | | | sound like someone fell out the wrong side of the bed today | | | | I had severe frame skipping issues in certain games with 9.1 (HD 4870 - xp32).
I tried Dead Space, Mirror's Edge, and Redlynx's new MTN, Mirror's edge was the only one that ran properly. Bringing up your weapon and Dead Space triggers it, and 100% of the time in MTN.
Framerate stays over 100 on the affected games, but frames are being skipped (what it looks like). Back to 8.12. | | | | Quote: |

| Well nvidia has been doing that for a long time. | | | | man that intro is total bullshit !! those drivers are useless | | | | | | Catalyst’s quality has drastically reduced during in the last year. | | | | Quote:

At least that's what I can imagine with so many layoffs taking place across the whole spectrum. | | | | that's AMD doing
I always said the merger was a bad move | | | | I think the main problem is because -
since CAT 8.6 or 8.7 there are actually two or even three different branches of the Catalyst drivers development. | | | | Quote:

The problem with PDF is... it erases the formatting when you copy and paste it. By the way, You know what are WGET and cURL are right? well, you can't use them on AMD's site because of their lame leech script.. really annoying when you're using a server without X. | | | | Strange thing is that these driver's have actually solved the instability problems that I have had since 8.10. My 3870X2's have seen quite a bit of improvement in games like Crysis. Benchmark scores only increased slightly. However I have not had to disable the ATI event utility at all. | | | | * Where are these multi-core optimizations they promised us?
Its Multithreading, not multi-core optimisations and they are coded into the driver. Active by default. And it works.
* Why there is an anti-leech protection on AMD’s website?
They don't like you?.
* Why are they using PDF for the release notes?
Done right, PDF can be written like an E-Book, and is easier to read via the user of content markers then other formats.
* What about game optimizations and fixes for latest games such as GTA IV?
GTA-4 isn't a game, its an international security threat.
* Why their HDMI support is still so poor?
No matter who owns them, its still ATI.
* Where are these Crossfire optimizations they promised us?
Well atleast one of our users is saying their crossfire is working now.
* Why their built-in gamma feature broken?
