Today we are looking at our first Arctic Cooling case and this unit has some advanced features that make it worth a second look right off the bat. While the 0.8mm SECC chassis may not spawn a lot of interest at first glance, this case also comes with an ECO 80 550W PSU to add value to the unit. To top it off, it uses some of Arctic Cooling's super quiet fans on the chassis as well as on the PSU to help keep things cool and quiet.
What is even more amazing to me is their HDD muffler that slaps a big thing piece of foam on top and in between your hard drives. At first glance, I thought this would merely turn my data into a toaster as the foam will greatly insulate them and trap heat, but Arctic Cooling has provided a single and effective solution to keep your drives cool. The Silentium T2 arrived in a well packaged box that includes soft foam on the outside of the rigid Styrofoam that held the actual case in place. This provides a greater level of protection on the case and it should arrive safe and sound. Ours came somewhat disassembled on the inside due to being dropped a time or two during transport, but nothing was broken and everything was able to be put back into place without issues. The Silentium T2 ECO 80 was encased in a plastic bag as well as the two layers of foam and Styrofoam and by all accounts it should be in pristine condition.
