ATI Catalyst 8.11 Performance Analysis
Posted by Regeneration on November 17th, 2008, 04:23 PM

Even if you're not playing Far Cry 2, as always we would recommend you upgrade to the latest driver suite. While for the most part we don't really see any gains in the games we test, it’s clear that there are going to be some gains out there which is always important. Add in the fact that there’s also a bucket load of bug fixes as usual and there isn’t much to complain about.

As we draw closer to the year's end, it will be interesting to find out what ATI do. Are we just going to see a normal driver update with bug fixes and perhaps a performance jump here and there, or is there going to be something special? – Only time will tell, but hopefully Santa brings us something special.

You can read the entire article at TweakTown.

lol funny you dare recommend this driver, as it is totaly f*****

many users reported BSOD with these

and the driver is totaly BSOD right after reboot for CF of HD4850 while with CF of HD4870 no crash but no option to activate crossfireX

it is a shame microsoft even gave WHQL to this release

if totaly recommend 8.8 or 8.10 driver (not hotfix 2 which BSOD, nor hotfix 1 which bugs in far cry 2)

I dont have any BSOD with hotfixes or 8.11 driver, but i have a machine constantly resets with 8.9.

I think you have to see your other components and drivers for atualizations!

I experience regular blue screens when using 8.11 for warcraft3 but every other game runs fine.

The older drivers were definitely more reliable for my 4870.
