ATI Catalyst 8.9 Beta
Posted by Regeneration on September 16th, 2008, 11:17 PM

A new beta build of ATI’s Catalyst software has been leaked to the web (Thanks to Andry for the heads-up). This build received a lot of positive feedback among several forums (performance improvements). The date on this driver is: 08/20/2008 and the build number is: 8.530. This beta build of Catalyst is available for Windows XP, Windows Vista and their 64-bit versions as well. Since this driver came from an unknown/unofficial source, use it at your own risk! Don’t blame us if anything bad happens. But if you would like to give it a try anyway, you can grab it directly from our beloved file server in the link below.

Then it means there are 6 more days I hope there will be the improvement. Because 8.8 has some problems...

Don't forget the AGP hotfix if possible.

AGP is supposed to be fixed since 8.3, so it should still work, atleast i hope

I think the 8.9 drivers are available at the windows update site. When I checked for updates last week, there was an update for my graphics card in the optional download section. I didn't download it to be sure, but it wouldn't be the first time windows update had the new drivers before they were posted at amd.ati. I keep checking for the new drivers but still not available.
