RivaTuner Developer Bans NvNews For Anti-Russian Nazism
Posted by Regeneration on September 1st, 2008, 12:47 PM

It seems that RivaTuner’s developer has banned NvNews from linking in to RivaTuner. The story began a few days ago when two NvNews users have mocked/criticized the developer‘s country due to the Russian-Georgian conflict. Russian RivaTuner’s developer was certainly unhappy with the mockery, so he decided to ban all NvNews from linking to his software by adding following to its license agreement:

The boys at NvNews have responded with a big thread on their forums – mostly flaming and criticizing Unwinder’s reaction to the situation. As far as we know, Unwinder isn’t affiliated with the Russian government and had nothing to do with the war. But again, criticism isn't anti-russian nazism or excuse to smash faces.

While I respect Unwinder, I must disagree with him. It’s unfair to ban an entire community just because few people don’t like your government. I don’t like the Russian government! Hell! I don’t even like my own government but that doesn’t make me a Nazi! Actually, that’s the opposite of Nazism - that’s freedom of speech.

it's a bit radical for sure, I can understand his feeling but both parties are being somewhat anal I think

Imo his reaction was justified.
Also gj with the new rivatuner

hey i say power to him, everyone has the right to stand up for their country and if the admins of that site refuse to do anything about it then ban them all, its no different then being racist towards a ethnicity, if they dont tolerate racisim towars ethnic people then then they shouldnt tolerate this either

The nvnews jerkoffs they couldn't be more irrelevant and unimportant so **** them. Hatred towards an entire nation (not just the government) should classify as some form of nazism. While initially only the russian government was targetted the peabrains quickly widened the scope. In this case it's not free speech it's hatred and people like that should be locked up with unpatched vista laptops for life.

In Russia they can arrest/kill you for going against the government - like in China, Iran and some other countries.
