i hate creative
why don't they release some driver for old and good value series ?

The reason I dint go vista was that I had a crackling sound issue with my XtremeMusic sound card. I hope they resolved it in this release.

One I thing I would like to point out here is that creative cards themselves are pretty good, its just that their drivers suck big time.

i have some strange things happening from time to time...
sound starts crackling loud as hell, stopps again after a few minutes (is really awkward if you are playing a game - vista ultimate 64)

crackling is a hardware issue, probably bad caps.

wrong, crackling can easily be software related, been there with my SB Live when experimenting with custom drivers

definitive no hardware issue here, as it happens only once in two months...
no changes in hardware and sound is crystal clear the rest of the time!

bad news crackling issue still present in Vista x64. I moved the Xtreme card to XP 32-bit with the new drivers no issues everything works fine.

Why the hell cant creative give a log about what they fixed in this driver release ?

I never had any crackling issues and i've drastically changed 3 platforms starting with AMD one and now with Intel. So it's clearly not a driver thing or a thing of cards themself but something else, usually motherboards, especially nForce based though i never had problems with it, at least not with nForce2 400.
BIOS updates often fix the crackling, yet they pretty much all blame X-Fi cards or Creative Labs...

thats latency related, has nothing to do with software.
