I would like to update you about what’s going on. First, we were very pleased to see so many users and readers have applied to our Beta Test Program! To be specific: 191 users, 5 spies and 2 double agents have submitted applications during the last week. Those that will be chosen will be informed early before the beta is available – we can’t still point to “when” at this stage.
The bad news is we still don’t have access to any HD 4800 hardware yet. It is very important for this project to receive AMD’s support on both developer and PR levels. It seems that AMD still is not being cooperative, we get the feeling that they want this project to fail. Perhaps their plans are to strangle PhysX since AMD and Intel have Havok. We truly hope this is not the case since “format wars” are really bad for the consumers (For example: Blu-ray vs. HD-DVD).
Before we get to the good news, I’m going to ask you to hold on to something steady as some of you are going to feel a bit dizzy after you hear this. The truth is… Nvidia is now helping us with the project and it seems they are giving us their blessings. It’s very impressive, inspiring and motivating to see Nvidia's view on this. Why they help us? My best guess would be: They probably want to take on Intel with CUDA and to deal with the latest Havok threat from both AMD and Intel.
Some other good news, we are getting a lot of help from cool journalists like Theo Valich to address the HD 4800 access issue. I can confirm that our CUDA Radeon library is almost done and everything is going as planned on this side. There are some issues that need to be addressed, since adding Radeon support in CUDA isn’t a big deal - but it’s not enough! We also need to add CUDA support on AMD’s driver level and its being addressed as we speak.

I am sorry you feel that way. There are some people here who actually try to support and give positive feedback about this project. If it happens that there are drivers released for ATI for Physix then I support Regeneration 100 %; If it does not happen the i still support Regeneration 100% for his efforts. I joined this forum because I liked the articles and news and the forums.
Because a few people give negative feedback and do not see the positive side this forum offers doesnt mean we are all bad. Best of luck on this project and i hope Regeneration is feeling better.
Also i would like to add that I found this on the tech report nvidia is releasing drivers on August 12th. here is the link;

understood on that , i wish we would get a bit more info on this subject . we get at first yes i got it work on ati , but i need time to work more bugs out , then we got informed nvidia has done a lil bit more help on this project , then regen starts working for nvidia because of his efforts requarding physics , which is way cool for regen that he actually gotten noticed for his talents . then nothing , no updates no hey nvidia wants me to wait , wants me to kill the project , wants me to continue . There are two groups who publish open source Radeon drivers for Linux. They could even possibly help fix any sticky areas in the code, as they have access to a lot of Radeon documentation and familiarity with it.

Now on to what this forums about , does anyone think Regen has finished the driver's and is just waiting on NV to allow the release? and if so , is it right what ATI feels towards something that obviously NV is already flexing it's muscle of "It's our standard so we release first".......hmmm..... maybe they were right about "a more open and shared standard" if Regen is already encountering this with them. If a software that he was preparing isn't working - noone would be asking Regen to postpone info's about that. So yes, it must be working, at least partialy.
Do we all think nVidia asked him to postpone it? Sure, though curious thing is that he got this request from FEW SOURCES. Hmm.. now this could be several people all inside nVidia, and if this is true - than yes, nVidia sucks and ATi is so right about open standards vs CUDA/Physx etc. But could it be that other source is... ATi itself?

But this is getting ridiculous already. I believe few days have gone by already, and we should be getting some info. And I'll have to say one thing other than others.. I have changed my opinion on the question "do we have the right to demand info from Rege". Well, IMHO - yes. Not cos we pay him, but cos he should stand up for his case, and proove he is not BSing us all and loughing in the back-room somewhere. And I still stand by my earlier words in one department - I don't even need a finished driver, just an info on which hardware it works (or will 99% certainly work), and perhaps a demo - video would be nice

and i also purchased a 3470
