Driver modder Daniel Kawakami or better known as Creative's Daniel_K is backing off his deal with providing modded software for all Creative sound cards for free. After receiving second warning mail from Creative threatening him with legal actions, he is finally "gone for good". He has posted a message over at the Creative forums informing everyone for his decission.

| | | | 11 Comments | | | I think creative has lost my business for good | | | | | | What did he expected? He is operating directly from Creative’s very own forum, so what exactly did he expected for? By working from their forums, he just pulled too much heat on himself and also gave them his IP address.
You-PaX is operating for years now and they never received any legal threat. Daniel_K is provoking Creative Labs by promoting his stuff on their own forums, so that kind of reaction was pretty anticipated. |

| Quote | | | | | working from their forums or not, he didnt deserve it, if anything they should be thanking him for the works he is doing on their otherwase shitty drivers and software | | | | They make up “shitty” drivers on purpose, to promote new products. They don’t want some individual messing around with their marketing plans/tactics. So the wise thing to do would be avoiding unnecessary heat.
If I were working for Creative, I’d be pissed too. Not only the guy is causing damage by messing around our shitty software and evil marketing plans without any kind of permission, he’s doing it from our WEBSITE?!? I’d ban him for that. |

regardless, he still didnt deserve it, just because he is throwing a wrench in their stupid "lets make shitty software so people keep buying our new products in the hopes that they are better then the old ones" plan doesnt make him deservent of legal threats etc. If anything they deserve to be boycotted.
If they had an ounce of intelect they might see that if they make good software so their cards work well they may be able to prolong the market life of a already established product and keep it selling to satisfied customers who will surely then return when its time to upgrade to something new simply because their satisfied with the old one | | | | creative can kiss my ass, my next soundcard will be a Asus Sonar. | | | | | | I have an Azune Prelude , excellent sound card and solid drivers with dolby digital live support. I almost picked up the Creative Fatality sound card but then I suddenly had a flash back of how good the creative drivers were/are ................
I guess the Asus Xonar is a pretty decent sound card but still it has to go a long way to match the X-Fi in terms of hardware but when it comes to drivers I guess any company out their producing sounds cards makes better drivers than the idiots at creative. | | | | Quote:

I think this is another step in a rather malicious campaign against Creative
run by professional marketing folks with no morals whatsoever.
I just hope this is sponsored by ASUS, or I would certainly have to hate them for that. | | |
