Multimedia computers are definitely the future of modern home systems and it’s quite logical when users attach significance to devices that will go hand in hand with them. One of these devices fell into our hands. We are talking about Logitech diNovo Mini which unites mouse and keyboard and it’s adapted for using it from your sofa. Logitech was lead with idea of keeping diNovo Mini in living room, and give us plenty of functions that can fulfill all our tech needs.
Whole device is completely protected with transparent plastic cover above 63 backlighted keys. This cover presents a shield against dust and spilled liquids but it has one more important function. The backlights turn on whenever you lift up a cover. diNovo Mini has integrated sensor which detects if there is enough light in room (whether is day light or good artificial lighting conditions in the room) and turns off backlight if necessary. This is important, because this method extends battery life. In package along with device, you will get battery charger, very similar to mobile phones chargers.
On bottom side of device are located: cover for Li-ion battery with capacity of 950mAh, switch for selecting PC or PS3 mode, restart button (for restarting connection) and of course, storage place for Bluetooth module. Second generation Bluetooth module connects on USB port and has reconnect button. It is compatible only with diNovo Mini keyboard, which actually means that this Bluetooth module cannot be used for connecting any other devices (e.g. telephone).
Under the “hood” of this device is QWERTY keyboard and very interesting touch pad. Keyboard is intended for “thumb typing” so you can reach with your right thumb touch pad, and with left all function keys. Function keys (FN) are built-in because of lack of space for placing all keys. So, usual F keys (from F1 – F12) are missing but multimedia buttons are present. Pressing one of two FN keys, keys with “new” assigned function “get” green backlight which makes them very noticeable. These new functions (assigned with FN key) are marked with blue letters above appropriate key.
