Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility 9.0.0.1007
Posted by Regeneration on May 14th, 2008, 02:53 PM

The Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility files inform the operating system how to properly configure the chipset for specific functionality, such as AGP, USB, Core PCI and ISA PnP services. In order to be able to install any chipset-related drivers (e.g. graphics, IDE, etc.), your operating system must first be able to recognize your chipset.
  • Determine if the Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility is required.
  • What if a USB driver update is required?
If the Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility is required for your system, it should be installed immediately after installing your operating system and any operating system service packs, but before installing any other device drivers.

Installed it , and runned.

After it replaced some old files , massage appear that XP detected unkown files and asked me to put in orginal XP instalation disc.

I just canceled it , but the question remains , is this normal ?

If you check the Properties of the Download link Rege provided, you'd see it's downloading from a mirror for Intel. But, if what you want to see is the actual download section from Intel, try this one....but, it is English, however.
