**** threatens NGOHQ.com
Posted by Regeneration on May 2nd, 2008, 03:21 AM

It seems that **** is unhappy about us mirroring their **** Precision Overclocking Utility. They emailed us earlier in the dumb and known “If you do not immediately remove the copyrighted material from NGOHQ.com, and notify us in writing that you have done so, we will have no choice but to pursue legal action against you” fashion; instead of the wise and useful “Would you kindly” fashion.

Despite the fact Copyright and intellectual property laws vary from country to country, and our law differs from theirs, we have decided to remove it. After all - it’s their software. However, since they used a “violent” style of communications, there will be consequences: the word “****” will be censored, and their hardware will be "banned" in upcoming software projects.

Note: There are millions of websites hosting drivers and software, but it seems that NGOHQ.com is the ONLY site to receive legal threats from Nvidia and their partners. Everyone is allowed to mirror these files, but only NGOHQ.com is not allowed, and we are sick of it.

eVGA is a good company as general customer service goes, but they should have asked you to kindly remove it if they so desired. They way they did it was stupid, and I don't blame you for blacklisting their products for a while. In fact, if it were me I would put it up on the front page on bold as a news article and the bi-line would read "can't we play nice?" LOL. NV is retarded anyway with their new "UMAP" policy. It's all about screwing customers $$ in the long run with obsfucation while at the same time trying to use marketing babble/lingo to say they are actually doing the opposite (eg redirect of the blame) -- but anyone with true intelligence and hardware savvy can see through it.
