These modified drivers are totally legal but in Today’s world, you can forget about justice. Especially in the United States, the DMCA and Copyright laws are being abused by Corporations. This abusive behavior of the law is very popular in the United States, and now in Europe due to a new EU DMCA laws. To prevent Creative from abusing the society and community, we would like to offer our free services and provide support. sure installing those via normal double click wont work so u need to unpack the package with winrar (for example) and then install them using the setup.exe in this case under the Drivers\SBXF folder.  | | | | AudioHQ works perfectly fine HCool,

turns out the 6600GT is broken, not sure whether its the HSI chip, or the gpu, but it would freeze whenever any form of stress was placed on it.,,, even watching youtube would freeze it.

Just go to creative site and download the latest x-fi drivers, unpack to a folder using winrar and install the SBXFM drivers manually or using the CTZap file.
After that, Creative sound mixer won't work, but audiohq will, just uninstall the surround mixer since windows volume panel is now way more functional (with the xfi drivers) and download and install Audio Console 1.2.00.23, this will allow you to enable 2.1,4.1,5.1, etc. im not seeing any extra quality over the 2004/2006 drivers but the individual speaker controls kick ass.
someone should ask him if he knows how to remove the hardware check from software like surround mixer, and speaker settings, i'd love to be able to use them on SB Live :P | |
