| Quote | | | | | Computer crashed 4 times in a row trying to install it. Had to boot using "last known good settings that worked..." and tried again before it would install. After install my monitors were switched around and had to deactivate one to fix it. Then I got a BSOD when windows tried to install the lone update that was available after SP1 was installed. Now I know why I am still using xp as my primary.
Oh, I tried to install Crysis on Vista the other day, kept saying that windows install was corrupt. I installed other programs before and after with no troubles. Went back and installed it on XP the first try. I still think this is not ready for prime-time. | | | | installed it yesterday night.. didnt had the time to check out what really changed but the install worked fine.. took about 40 mins and everything was ok

| Quote | | | | | Clean your pcs of all spyware, adware, and close all open applications before running the SP update, any application running could potentially lock a file that needs to be updated. | | | | Two days and counting....still not one problem to report.
I've nearly forgotten what XP looks like. | | | | I installed it. And it restarted to configure the updates. When it restarted, the screen was black for 20 minutes. And the computer had no activity. It turned off. I turned it back on. My computer told me to use start up recovery. I tried. It asked me if I wanted to use system restore. There were three recent ones. I clicked on one. I waited for 10 minutes and then it said it couldn't do it because there was no restore point, which there obviously were. So now I'm furious because my computer now doesn't work. I will call gateway tommorow and microsoft.
P.S I'm using my iPod touch to post. | | |
