i hate downloading gb's every day...
eg. you buy HL2 (steam account) then you have to dl 6gb over net... awesome on slow lines :/
some time back you bought a dvd got home installed and you were able to play after a few minutes!

that and most ISP's have bandwidth limits, ours is 30 gigs a month, and if you go over that you end up paying rediculous ammounts of money

Steam is great IMO. You don't have to redownload content, you can backup it up on CDs and then restore it.

the problem is having to download it in the first place

Unreal Tournament 2004: Editor's Choice Edition
Hmm? Well I've got UT3 and for all the graphics improvements, smooth performance and neat additions I still prefer UT2K4 (even though I no longer have it). UT3 feels like it's been reduced in some way, maybe it's just console crapification syndrome.
