DirectX Redistributable March 2008
Posted by Regeneration on March 8th, 2008, 04:13 AM

Microsoft DirectX is a group of technologies designed to make Windows-based computers an ideal platform for running and displaying applications rich in multimedia elements such as full-color graphics, video, 3D animation, and rich audio. DirectX includes security and performance updates, along with many new features across all technologies, which can be accessed by applications using the DirectX APIs.

Where do the downloaded files need to be extracted to? There are a lot of files!..

I have been hearing past few months that some games have both DirectX 9 as well as DirectX 10 support.

But I am not quite sure how to know which Version of DirectX my graphics card is using (assuming my graphics card supports DirectX10).

Can somebody help me...
Quote
some cards feature support for both dx 9 + 10 , however, their ability to use these features depends upon which operating system you are using...

Assuming that your profile says the truth (who knows ), you have a Radeon X1950 wich

is an excellent DX9 only card

Don't bother looking for DX10 on your computer, you can't use it, as a lot of people, including myself

Both dx10 and vista are stinking piles of crap. Who wants a massive performance loss for a bit of extra motion blur? If you ask me there are better options for improved image quality.

Being a newbei, I posted the query wrongly. Sorry for that.

But it is not specific to my configuration, but in general. Also my question relates with Vista OS. I know XP does not support DX10

I was searching internet badly to answer this query, but didn't find a proper literature on this.

Tweak, it all depends on the card, for ATI anything with HD infront of the card series number (eg HD 2900) supports dx10 and for nvidia all 8000 series and above cards support dx10, but if your not sure then check the box or quickly google the card's spec's and you shouldnt have any trouble finding out
