KGB Key Logger 4.52.821
Posted by Regeneration on January 31st, 2008, 06:40 PM

Do your children spend a lot of time chatting over the Internet? Make sure your kids are safe by monitoring their chats and prevent inappropriate browsing activities by recording Web sites that they visit. KGB Free Keylogger runs in a system tray near the clock, and registers all key presses and visited Web sites. Your kids won't be able to access or disable KGB Free Keylogger without knowing your secret password.

I don't have any kids (yet). When I do I hope they aren't going to be stopped by something as trivial as this.

I must disagree with you, Unixlord. KGB Keylogger is a good tool. In Keylogger.Org ratings this version was ranked number 3 among the populariest ones. The thing is that it can be used not only for kids monitoring but also for employees monuitoring and monitoring of them is a very good incentive for them to do their job instead of surfing the web, believe me

The guy has a point. With all the respect to privacy, it would be wise to make sure your kids are not dating with 60 years old pedophiles, and making sure your wife is not cheating on you. But it’s a matter of trust! If you can trust your kid/wife/employees for 100% then you shouldn’t monitor their activities. However, it is good to have such an option because in today’s world, it is not easy to trust everyone.

I've tried KGB keylogger before, seemed like a decent program. The only issue I've had with it was that its presence was obvious on the machine I tried it on because it took up so many CPU cycles and bogged the machine down that any noob could tell something was wrong. This was running on a Celeron D at about 3GHz with 512MB of RAM on XP. It worked out great on any machine that was decently fast though.

A keylogger that reveals its presence just screams distrust. When that happens kids look for secrecy and alternatives ways and hide their activities rather than being open about it. Openness and rational guidance works better.
