nVidia ForceWare 169.28

Nvidia Corporation has released a new beta ForceWare driver. This beta ForceWare driver is intended for customers experiencing issues with the retail version of Unreal Tournament 3. This beta ForceWare driver supports GeForce 6-8 families, and available for Microsoft Windows XP, Vista x86 and Vista x64. Be wary of drivers released near christmas. The windows forceware (both this and the previous beta) have an antialiasing bug, the nvidia linux driver has an annoying fanspeed bug, the ATI Linux driver has a widescreen resolution bug (among others). I haven't heard anything on the Windows catalyst.

Apparent conclusion: Christmas provides a significant distraction to driver programming teams.

not that i care about nvidia drivers, the reason isnt so much that the developers are distracted during christmas as much as it is that they are rushing these things out the door so their out before christmas and the company looks good to their paitrons

In case you didn't notice ATI rushed out their Linux driver trying to beat nvidia before Christmas and ended up with a f**king stupid resolution bug effecting many users. Lucky for them nvidia tripped too.

that new 169.25 WHQL that kept failing, i tried to remove it and it seemed to uninstall ok but then any driver i tried to install after wouldn't function at all - even 163.75 whql & 169.25 beta which i have used several times before and know works fine - weird - be careful, I had to waste much time with restoring system
