ATI Catalyst 7.12 with Control Panel
Posted by Regeneration on December 22nd, 2007, 09:01 PM

Today we have some good news for the old-school ATI Radeon fans. We have brought ATI’s Classic Control Panel back from the grave, just to make these who don’t like/used the Catalyst Control Center (CCC aka ACE) happy. This unofficial set is available for Microsoft Windows XP and offers support for the ATI Radeon 9500-3870 series. We would like to mention that this is an unofficial driver, and it’s not supported by AMD/ATI.

This is the FIRST time I have seen this posted exactly what are you talking about ? The driver with CP versions are based on the raw ATI driver with the CP added ...

Pal what was the last version of ATI drivers including the CP ?

Even Omega includes with his drivers that some files are used from older sets and if you are prompted to overwrite do so. Reason is some files are older and in the case of CP like I said in my last post what was the last date ATI officailly released a driver version with CP ?

Am I making sense ?

Oh, God!!! Do no try to teach me! I've been using these ATIwithCP drivers for very long time, because I do not like CCC. But for the first time I noticed such thing. Maybe this is only mistake made by uploader. But really it is 7.9 september driver. It's OLD, OLD, OLD!!!
It is my last post. I have no strength. As I said - if You don't believe, try it...

At the first report, I checked it myself and it seems fine. Make sure you're using proper browser, with proper addons and referral allowed. Also check Firewall settings. Maybe you got confused, or you used another Catalyst 7.12 with CP, but here everything is fine.

Well I prefer the CP as well and not trying to "teach" anyone. But since I am a former ATI Catalyst Beta tester with NDA's signed by Terry Makedon in person I would like more information pertaining to this.

Either that or you do not know how optimized drivers sets work *shrugs*

AGP friendly or not?

Not sure on AGP would depend on the 7.12 driver itself Bro and don't remember seeing anything in the release notes

i got the version sting posted because he was a little quicker on the draw. i did notice that the shadow under "welcome" on the xp welcome screen had turned red but ignored it because all games were running great and the software reported it was 7.12.

suddenly crysis slowed down a couple days after i installed so i figured why not give regen's version a try?.

uninstalled sting's and regen's wouldn't install for lack of recognition.

reinstalled sting's, it seems to work fine but i can't figure why crysis suddenly got slow. it's the only game that slowed down.
