Abit IX38 Quad GT Motherboard Review @ CPU3D

Abit have decided to stay with DDR2 on the IX38... and I don't blame them, as DDR3 is still very expensive and only offers a marginal increase in performance over DDR2. I think Abit have made the correct decision in this case as the festive season is fast approaching... and motherboard upgrades could be one of the top presents on everyone's shopping list. Why not use your existing DDR2 ram, and just change your motherboard.

well i wouldn't say "marginal" Reg, DDR2 can only go to pc6400, DDR3 can go up to pc10,000, so quite a bit of difference there

i still think the advantage of DDR3 which is starting to finally show doesnt justify its price and there for these boards are just right for most ppl wanting an upgrade for the upcoming time.. besides looks like a sweet board too specially like pointed out in the OC section....

It will be a while before DDR3 drops enough in price to be cost effective especially with DDR2 so cheap at the moment. Nice looking mobo BTW
