Crysis Demo Available Now!
Posted by Regeneration on October 26th, 2007, 11:54 PM

You know what? forget about tomorrow! The demonstration version of Crysis has been leaked to the World Wide Web. Why wait 24 hours while you can grab it directly from our file server? So go ahead and grab it now. Crysis is based in a fictional future, where an alien race has invaded Earth. The single player campaign has the player assume the role of Jake Dunn. Dunn is a United States Delta Force operative, who is armed with various futuristic weapons and equipment, most notably a "Nano Muscle Suit", which is an artificial and technologically advanced exoskeleton.

s2600xt ddr4 on dx10 i use 1024 medium>high settings on dx9 i use 1280 everything on high
on these settings it acts great, but still on very high under dx10 blows my mind :| looks great ! but it moves like 15 fps 20 in average on 1280 very high dx10 can't wait to recive my HD2900,
btw i've seen a lot of 8800gts users complaining ) that it moves like crap some of them play it almost like me on 2600xt hahaha in 1280 medium high ) ( dx10)

and yes is single player, the first level from the game they say but i think it to short to be that
Quote
almost finished downloading, shall soon test it on my rig-o-doom
Quote
I just played through it, it rocks. It's a bit short, though. Oh, and there's a gigantic difference between medium and high quality shaders, if you can sacrifice a few frames for that, do it.
Quote
well its runs quite well on high settings at 1280x960, cool game
Quote
well after playing through the demo i can say that it will be a good game, but the graphics arent THAT amazing, their good but their not "wow!" good, no more impressive then bioshock or even s.t.a.l.k.e.r (on high sets anyways), i do wish they would get rid of the nvidia and intel logo's so they didnt look like complete sell outs though.

How about some screenshots?
Quote
it playes nice on XP 1280x1024 hi settings, no AA
but ... on vista ... i need to lower the settings to med
comparing it to the BETA, I think my quad has to do with something

Guys remember that if you don't have DX10 card, you cannot unleash the full power of this game

Jeez I love the way I said it
Quote
Running everything on max @ 1440x900 but the sound is still broken/chopped up.
Quote
no problems with sound here, Xp or Vista
about DX10 ... it has yet to convince me
Quote
I have yet to try it but thought I would pop in and say something ...

Unleash the power of DX10 .... DX10 rocks

Am I on the right Forum or does anyone remember this thread ???

I could see some piece of the intro (but still artefacts)

Now I'll try to reinstall It...

I could redld it but...

That's a good point

I'm using the 6.10 because under my favorite games: -Pacific Fighter
-Armed Assault
they seem to be the most efficient drivers, with my GPU.

Unless I'm wrong about the 7.10 with I think are better for the DH series,
I will stck to the 6.10,and won't change just for Crysis.

As I won't change to vista either

I'm using an X-Fi Prelude, Vista x64, and I've got no sound problems.

hmm might be the time for thinking of upgrading my gpu again ...

I didnt have any sound issues at all, everything ran fine, i cant imagine dx10 honestly add's alot to it, probably looks almost exactly thesame, its more of a gimic then anything else.

yes mine say's pre-release demo in the top right corner as well. ill put up ss's if no one else has later today.

also im stil lrunning the 8.42 beta drivers, i have no idea which version of the catalyst their using it just says 8.42 in the cp

Runs quite as expected. about 30 fps 1280x1024 high details. so I think not much changed since beta #3 check this link:

A lot of people are expiriencing problems with the fmod soundsystem the crytek has used in crysis, looked around at different forums and sound problems in one form or another seems to be a common topic. I`ve tried every trick in the book but the sound quality is still very bad with a lot of static and with even several seconds of silence in between. I ended up uninstalling it cause it annoyed the hell out of me. IMO they should have used OpenAL instead.

I wonder if there's a setting to adjust the sound buffer size in the INI.

If you're using Vista x64, you need to use the .exe file from the \Bin64 folder, it should fix the audio issues, but it will generate another issue (CTD). lol.

Not using x64, but thanks for the tip anyways. Ive updated alle the drivers, updated the bios, modified the PCI latency, tried to fool crysis into stereo mode, running crysis in low setting, change different bios settings that may affect the soundcard, modifying power managment in vista and the list goes on. I seriously hope they fix it before the release, cause im not going to pay a dime for a game that has more in common with a Charlie Chaplin movie than with a bleeding edge FPS.

I think you will find the 7.10 rc4 will work quite well

Great game so far runs smooth and clean here. Nice on the graphics and textures

surprisingly, i have an acceptable game with mixed quality settings using 7.9 driver with cp. (i don't like ccc)
objects, shaders and shadows seem to be the biggest perf hits...

i'm using these quality settings and have a playable beautiful game on the ol' 1800xl...
1280x1024 AA off
textures: high
objects: med
shadows: low
physics: high
shaders: med
volumetric effects: high
game effects: high
post processing: high
particles: high
water: med
sound: high

btw my soundcard is a gadget labs 8*24, never been a problem...

as per all the sound problems im running it with a audigy 4 on xp and absolutly no sound issues
Quote
No sound issues here either with my Auzentech X-Plosion audio card on XP

DOOMJESUS I don't care for the CCC either still running the new Omega's (just the drivers) and going to switch back to the 7.10 rc4 with CCC uninstalled. I am just using Rivatuner with both these drivers at the moment and quite happy with the results

I never got any CTD's.

started and found a "bug" if you try to play at 2560x1600 with FF@ 16Q the game crushes when it finished loading...
if you start it at 1280x800 (1/4 resolution of above without AA) then it works like charm no speed problems with everything on high (guess ultra high is only available in vista)

Hey guys

So thanks to your advice I went to the 7.10 rc4,I redld the demo, reinstall it,and...same bug.

It's a bit better but unplayable anyway.

I tried every settings,no change.

So here is a screen shot with error report from the ingame console...what does it tell?

It refers to maps or something...

Anyway if someone know what it means

Thanks
Quote
Not exactly sure but it looks like the memory on your card or system is having problems loading textures .... anyone else getting this ?
