Crysis Demo Arrives Tomorrow
Posted by Regeneration on October 26th, 2007, 05:32 PM

Crytek and EA planned to release Crysis Demo today, but they decided to delay to tomorrow, around 13:00 GMT time. These who pre-ordered the game are getting 24 hours exclusive, and can already obtain the demo directly from EA Download Manager. Anyway, you can expect us to have it by tomorrow. Crysis is based in a fictional future, where an alien race has invaded Earth. The single player campaign has the player assume the role of Jake Dunn. Dunn is a United States Delta Force operative, who is armed with various futuristic weapons and equipment, most notably a "Nano Muscle Suit", which is an artificial and technologically advanced exoskeleton.

Beta was a joke. I had some GFX issues and super-annoying sound issue, I gave up on it.

Well, I tried it and the sound is still crackling under Vista 64. The graphics are amazing but I’m getting 28 fps on 1680x1050 and Medium settings (without AA) with my FX55 and X1950XTX. It supports Widescreen but the FOV is not supporting widescreen; and I cannot use lower resolutions because it will look like crap. Well, atleast the graphics work, unlike the beta.

Well, I can live with the low fps, but no way I’m playing it with all this annoying crackling, I tried both X-Fi and Realtek and same results. The game also has 64-bit binaries but I can’t use it, it seems to fix crackling but the game is crashing to desktop with the x64 binary. Well, I will wait for the official game, upgrade my CPU to Q6600, and get some better graphics card.

I don't know if you're going to get the same demo I have (Pre-Release Demo), but the current one is really unstable. This game is aimed for Vista and DX10, and the sound is not working correctly, pretty lame. I'm pretty sick of upgrading CPU and VGA every year to play ONE GAME, maybe I will buy Xbox and that's it.
