3DMark Next Systems Requirements @ NH
Posted by Regeneration on October 23rd, 2007, 05:21 PM

3DMark Next is the name of the successor to 3DMark 06. The developers at Futuremark have been rather quiet about the upcoming 3D benchmark, but we do know that it will be Vista and DirectX 10 / Shader Model 4.0 exclusive. As with all of the previous 3DMark benchmarks, 3DMark Next have some quite extreme system requirements, but the funny thing about them is that they are for just running the benchmark. If you want it to run smoothly and achieve a good score you need some even more extreme. The absolute minimum requirements are quite fair, but we dare to claim that such a system won't get you far.

Publishers Minimum System
* x86/x64 single core CPU with SSE2 support. Performance similar to Intel Pentium D 3.2 GHz or better.
* Fully D3D10/SM4.0 compliant graphics card, 256 MB
* 1024 MB RAM
* 2 GB Free Disk Space
* Windows Vista (Server editions not supported)

Publishers Recommended System
* Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 or equivalent AMD CPU.
* Fully D3D10/SM4.0 compliant graphics card, 512 MB
* 2048 MB RAM
* 2 GB Free Disk Space
* Windows Vista (Server editions not supported)

Well I can't see myself using this in the near future but as I said in another thread we are all gonna have to get used to it. Monopolies rule and this isn't the first app you will see available as Vista only .... as we have already seen some.

Blindartist I thought NV already had bragging rights on paying off Futuremark Bro LOL

hehe they do, and intel is a close runner up, but i think microsoft is running around and paying everyone off to make vista only software now, even when xp came out it was a long time before there was xp only software, their really trying to push this stupid os over on us

vista only due no benchmarks for dx10...
its bit freaky to see that my cpu is the recommended stuff...
as i do not think its "average" hardware yet
you see too many sempron and celeron running around and they set dualcore @ 2.4 ghz as recommendation ??
well - i dont care anyway - benchmarks do not incrase stability or performance :P
