Hamachi 1.0.2.3
Posted by Regeneration on October 19th, 2007, 10:06 PM

Hamachi is a zero-configuration virtual networking application enabling secure direct communications between any two computers on the Internet regardless of the presence of firewalls or address translation devices on the route between them. In particular, it can create true peer-to-peer network between two computers each residing behind its own broadband router. Sleek and simple interface, fast and transparent operation.

Interesting I was going to try it with NHL2007 my buddy I work on music with is on wireless and I am on cable we are both using routers. I think we are going to have to sit down and go through the router settings for both our locations but might give this a shot and see what happens

Note that, for some games to work with Hamachi, you'll have to set Hamachi to have the highest network connection preference. To do this in 2k/XP, go to Control Panel->Network Connections->Advanced->Advanced Settings, and move Hamachi up to the top of the list in the first tab of the window that shows up. In Vista, go to Control Panel->Network and Sharing Center->Manage Network Connections, press alt, then go to Advanced->Advanced Settings, then move Hamachi to the top of the list. Be aware that doing this could mess other networking things up, so don't do it unless it's necessary.

Yes you can share files, remotely control a desktop and play multiplayer games as if you were on a lan. It also has basic chat functionality and the ability to ban/evict people . Some routers/ISPs cause issues which can be fixed by following the instructions (specific to each error) on the official site. Before we got bored, this was how me and my friends played Titan Quest. There used to be a large central hamachi gaming network which is sadly down.
